Independence Day Celebration

Cultural Center of India (CCI)

We are preparing for the largest celebration in the history of India Association! With an expected attendance of over 2000, we are seeking all the help that we can get. If you would like to be part of the team effort that is making this monumental event possible, please contact Surya Dhakar (304-9501). We are seeking helpers who can distribute food at the CCI on August 16.

A few highlights of the celebration:

  • Guest: Padmashri Dr. Ashok Gupta, renowned plastic surgeon of India
  • Chief Guest: Bob McDonnell
  • Performance by all 40 members of the U.S. Military band: 2:30 to 3:30 PM
  • Entertaining cultural programs - Contact Bina Shah (527-6564) to participate.
  • All children participating in the rehearsal and the final parade will receive M&Ms.
  • Complimentary Falooda will be available for those arriving before 2:30 PM
  • Complimentary Dinner in carry-out boxes will be available at the conclusion of the program

    Due to parking limitations, we request that members carpool and have four or more occupants per car in order to park in the CCI parking lot.
